Today's EV conversion requires thousands of DC cells configured into
a battery box commonly referred to as a battery pack (BP) that are hooked up in
parallel to produce the total sum of their individual cell voltage. Most EV
AC induction motors require 220 to over 450 volts of 3 phase AC power.
This is accomplished by sending high levels of DC power to a AC power inverter
that turns it into high voltage AC power. We use
them all the time in automobiles that have television and video games for the
kids, but those inverters are much smaller and produce single phase 110 volt
power which is a fraction of what is needed to power an AC motor large enough to
